Most experienced anglers will put together a shorter, sturdy rod of about 7ft with a medium to heavy action and pair it with a Baitcaster reel, constructed with a great drag system and capable of holding plenty of Braid. This pairing not only will be accurate to cast in denser areas, but also be sensitive to the bite, and contain the strength to deal with the Barras powerful runs. Braid line is also preferred thanks to its strength and low stretch.
