Shop Quality Braided Fishing Line at Anaconda

Braid line is prized by anglers for its great strength, lack of stretch and resistance to abrasion. At Anaconda, you'll have the opportunity to choose from a wide array of top-quality braid fishing line options, including Daiwa J Braid Grand, Berkley Fireline Ultra 8, Shimano Kairiki, Sufix 832 and other advanced superlines. Each provides superior abrasion resistance for deep water anglers who want optimum feel of even the smallest nibbles and bites. The Anaconda range of fishing lines also includes monofilament lines, fluorocarbon lines and other lines suitable for all types of anglers.

Find Durable Braided Line For Tough Fish

For deep saltwater anglers targeting big fish, braided fishing line is always a favourite. That's because its legendary toughness make it perfect for deep-sea fishing and trolling. Made from synthetic materials, braided line combines impressive strength with a small diameter, so it's easier to cast and produces less stretch and better sensitivity. Plus, braided lines are harder to break when snagged, so they often straighten out hooks and let you retrieve your pricey lures! They're also excellent for fishing in thick aquatic weed mats.

Braided lines such as Spectra, Spiderwire and Chartreuse work well in eliminating line breakage while setting the hook or retrieving fish from deep water. As an Anaconda specialty, our braided line range includes top-quality products such as Shimano Ocea, Sunline Siglon and Power Pro Super Slick, which can all provide a significantly longer reel life if properly spooled and maintained.

What To Consider When Buying Braided Fishing Line

If you are new to using braided fishing line, or haven't bought your own and set it up yourself, there are a few things to consider:

  • Thickness - Braided line is thinner than monofilament. For example, a braided line may be advertised as 6-pound test line, while it has the same diameter as a 2-pound test monofilament line. Thinner line has many advantages, but it is a little more difficult to work with, such as when you're tying knots.
  • Strength - Braided fishing line is a strong line that's ideal for many Australian conditions. When tied to a swivel with a uni-knot, braided line from Rovex, Camo and Shimano can be pulled heavily when you're dragging big fish from the depths.
  • Stretch - Keep in mind that braided fishing line has almost zero stretch, so it can take a little practice when handling big fish. You may want to experiment with drag settings to get the right feel. One advantage of this lack of stretch is the ability to feel subtle bites on the line from virtually any depth.
  • Visibility - The biggest drawback of braided line is how much it can be seen in the water. Premium manufacturers such as Daiwa, Jarvis Walker and Shimano are improving the camouflage capabilities of braided fishing line by incorporating colours such as neon lime and moss green. Experienced anglers also often add a monofilament leader to the end of a braided line.
