Anaconda Island Adventure Experience Competition 2024
Information on how to enter and prize(s) form part of these Terms and Conditions (Terms). By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Entries must comply with these Terms to be valid.

Entrants | Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over. The Promoter, its associated agencies and companies, and officeholders, management, employees and contractors of the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies and the immediate families of such employees are ineligible to win any prize. |
Competition | Win one of two (2) Anaconda Island Adventure Trips for 10 guests over three (3) nights and four (4) days at Anaconda Island/Tiwi Island Retreat, located at Port Hurd, Bathurst Island, Tiwi Islands, Northern Territory, Australia. Travel to the Island will take place on selected weekends in April 2025. The winners and their guests will be flown from their nearest capital city to Darwin. To get to the Retreat, all guests will depart Darwin via small charter plane from Air Frontier, for an approx. thirty (30) minute transfer to Port Hurd, Bathurst Island, then a short boat ride for an approx. ten (10) minute transfer to where the Retreat is located. To ensure all guests are in Darwin at the time of small charter plane departure to Tiwi Island Retreat, guests may need to arrive a night earlier. If required, Anaconda will cover the cost of one (1) night’s accommodation in a 4 Star property. Guests under the age of 18 travelling as part of this Prize must travel with a parent or guardian. |
Entry | To enter, each Entrant must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period: 1. Spend $50 or more in one (1) transaction in an Anaconda store or online at https://www.anacondastores.com to go into the draw, with every $50 incremental spend earning the Entrant an additional entry (e.g spend $50 up to $99.99 = 1 entry, spend $100 up to $149.99 = 2 entries, spend $150 up to $199.99 = 3 entries); 2. Be a member of the Anaconda Adventure Club via https://www.anacondastores.com at the time of their qualifying transaction; 3. Entrants who purchase products from the following brands during the Promotional Period will receive a triple entry (e.g spend $50 up to $99.99 = 3 entries, spend $100 up to $149.99 = 6 entries, spend $150 up to $199.99 = 9 entries): Anaconda, Abu Garcia, Berkley, Blade N Tails, Bone, G.Loomis, Live Fibre, Mason, Mustad, Owner, Penn, Plano, Power Pro, Shakespeare, Shimano, Spiderwire, Squidgies, Starlite, Sterling, Surecatch, Toit Tools, Ugly Stik, Venom, Wilson or Zerek (Promoted Brands). For the avoidance of doubt, a $50 spend that is comprised of a mix of Promoted Brands and other products will earn a single entry in accordance with sub-clause (2) above; 4. Entrants must complete and submit their full name, address, email, phone number, Anaconda Adventure Club membership number and confirm they are over 18 years old at https://www.anacondastores.com/competitions/anaconda-island-competition-2024; 5. The number of entries an Entrant will receive will be automatically calculated from the Entrant’s purchase history, accessed via their Adventure Club membership number; 6. Multiple entries from the same Entrant will be accepted as long as the above criteria is met with each transaction. |
Draw | 1. The draw will take place at 2:00pm (AEDT) on Friday 7th February 2025. The winners will be selected at random, drawn from an electronic ballot (Initial Prize Selection). 2. There will be a total of two (2) valid entries drawn who will each receive the prize for 10 guests (including the winner). 3. The Initial Prize Selection will take place at the Anaconda head office, Level 6, 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne, VIC, 3205, Australia and will be attended by a scrutineer chosen by the Promoter to validate the draw. 4. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, request additional information to determine the identity of the Entrant. 5. If a winner has not come forth to claim a prize within two weeks of the Initial Prize Selection, an unclaimed prize selection will be conducted at Anaconda head office, Level 6, 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne, Vic 3205, Australia at 2.00pm (AEDT) on Monday 24th February 2025 in accordance with any State or Territory Regulations (Unclaimed Prize Selection). Winner(s) of the Unclaimed Prize Selection must claim their Prize within two (2) weeks. |
Prize(s) | 1. The first two (2) winners drawn will receive one (1) trip to Tiwi Island Retreat for 3 nights / 4 days for ten (10) persons including; a. Return economy flights from winner’s and guests’ nearest capital city. Winners and guests will need to make their own way to and from their nearest capital city; b. Return Small Charter Plane and Boat transfers from Darwin to Tiwi Island Retreat (approx. 40 minute trip each way); c. Accommodation at the Retreat in an Ocean Room (sleeps 2 per room) up to 10 rooms based on the requirements of the guests; d. Food and beverages throughout the stay including daily canapes and cocktails; e. Activities including beach dinner, beach bonfire, blue water fishing tour, estuary fishing tour, and Indigenous cultural experience; f. Welcome pack per guest, (the Prize). 2. The dates of the Prize for the first drawn winner will be Friday 4th April to Monday 7th April 2025. The dates of the Prize for the second drawn winner will be Friday 18th April to Monday 21st April 2025. 3. RRP of each Prize is valued at $90,400.00. The total Prize package is $180,800.00 based on two (2) trips. The RRP value of the return economy flight is calculated based off a return Sydney to Darwin flight with Virgin Australia carrier. The RRP value of the accommodation is calculated based off the use of all 10 Ocean Rooms. Exact Prize value may vary depending on the location and accommodation requirements of the winner and guests. 4. To redeem the Prize, each winner shall provide the Promoter with the full names and nearest capital city of the winner and guests at least one (1) month prior to the departure date. No changes to itinerary and accommodation are permitted once the Promoter has confirmed dates of travel and accommodation or if allowed, may be subject to a surcharge, additional charges or administrative fees which shall be borne by the winner. 5. The accommodation at the Retreat will be in Ocean Rooms (sleeps 2 per room) up to 10 rooms based on the requirements of the winner and guests. 6. The winners and guests will be required to sign a Participant Agreement and Release as part of the Prize. 7. The winner and guests will be required to provide a credit card imprint that will be used as a bond in case of damage to the property and charged for incidentals, such as additional activities and any other items that are not listed as part of the Prize. 8. All other costs not included in the Prize are the winner’s responsibility. These include without limitation, costs relating to government levies, ground transport, travel insurance, spending money, additional taxes, all insurance, additional transfers, items of a personal nature (including but not limited to additional room charges such as pay per view movies, laundry, room service, mini-bar, telephone calls), any upgrades, pre-flight or inflight purchases or additional nights and all other ancillary costs. 9. The winners and each of their guests are solely responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate travel documentation. It is the sole responsibility of the winners to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations prior to travel. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. The Promotor strongly recommends the winners and guests take out travel insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter (i.e. flight cancellations or extreme weather events). 10. If the Prize is unavailable, the Promoter at its absolute discretion, may substitute the Prize (or a component of the Prize) with a prize of equal value, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. Other than this, the Prize is not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be taken as cash. 11. Any change in value occurring between the publishing date and the date the Prize is redeemed is not the responsibility of the Promoter. 12. Guests at the Tiwi Island Retreat will be refused service of alcohol if it would breach any relevant laws, codes or policies including those of the liquor licensee relating to the relevant legislation. The Promoter and Retreat Management supports the responsible service of alcohol. 13. The Promoter, Tiwi Island Retreat Management and staff will not tolerate aggressive or abusive behaviour in any form that may intimidate, harass or cause an act of violence towards others. 14. The Promoter and Tiwi Island Retreat Pty Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from or in connection with the competition, any omission to enter a person into the competition, acceptance of the Prize or the Prize itself, except for liability which cannot be excluded by law. The winners and guests release the Promoter, Tiwi Island Retreat Pty Ltd and their related bodies corporate, affiliates, officers, agents, employees and suppliers (the Released Parties) from all liability, loss and damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the acceptance of, and participation in, the Prize. Without limiting the foregoing, the Released Parties will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize except for liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case liability is limited to the minimum amount allowable by law). 15. If for any reason a winner does not take the Prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the Prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the Prize. |
Notification of Winners | The winners will be notified where possible by phone and email on the day of the relevant Prize selection and no more than two (2) business days after the date of the Prize selection. Winners will be published on the Promotor’s website (last name, first initial and postcode) within 30 days of the Initial Prize Selection and/or Unclaimed Prize Selection. |
Privacy | 1. The Promoter collects and uses personal information (PI) in order to conduct the competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, Prize suppliers and, as required, to any applicable regulatory authorities. By entering this competition and providing your PI, you agree to such disclosure. Although you may choose not to provide certain information, please be aware that this may affect your eligibility to win the competition. 2. The Promoter will use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://www.anacondastores.com/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy contains information about how Entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how Entrants may complain about a breach of the applicable Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. 3. All PI will be held at the office of the Promoter or on IT systems controlled by the Promoter, in respect of which reasonable security arrangements are in place to prevent unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. 4. In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, each Entrant consents to the Promoter, for an indefinite period unless otherwise advised in writing by the Entrant, using the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to or telephoning the entrant. Entrants can request not to receive information about future promotions by calling 1300 305 405 or unsubscribing from email communications. The Promoter may continue to provide Entrants with information for an indefinite period unless and until advised otherwise by the Entrant. 5. Entrants consent to the Promoter and Tiwi Islands Retreat using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including any photograph, film and/or recording of same) for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting the Promotion and any of the Promoter’s products, including but not limited to, being published on the Promoter’s Internet site, social media pages, in their stores and in marketing material for an unlimited time and without remuneration as a condition of acceptance of the Prize. |
Miscellaneous | 1. By entering this competition, and by attempting to do so, each Entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms, and expressly gives the consents referred to in these Terms. Any person who attempts to enter this competition shall be referred to in these Terms as an “Entrant”, irrespective of whether any competition entry is accepted by the Promoter. 2. Products required to be purchased for entry will not always be available at every Anaconda store or via the online store and any rainchecks, lay by purchases or payments will not be counted for entry purposes. 3. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries (including an Entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any Entrant (and to prohibit that Entrant from resubmitting an entry into the competition) where the Promoter believes that the entry or the entry process has been tampered with or where any entry has been submitted otherwise than in accordance with the Terms. The Promoter may also disqualify any Entrant who acts in a disruptive manner or who acts with intent or effect of annoying, abusing, threatening or harassing any other person or who behaves in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter, Tiwi Islands Retreat or any of its related bodies corporate or the agencies or companies associated with this competition, or who engages in conduct which is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate. 4. Entries must not include any content that contravenes any law, infringes the rights of any person or is obscene, offensive, potentially defamatory, discriminatory, indecent, objectionable or inappropriate (which includes any content involving nudity, malice, excessive violence or obscene language). 5. If for any reason (including due to tampering or interference) this competition is not capable of running as planned, subject to the approval of those authorities which have issued permits for the conduct of this competition, the Promoter, at all times acting reasonably, reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or suspend or modify a Prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority. 6. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any lost, late, misdirected entries, illegible entries (including lost, stolen, forged, defaced or damaged entries) or entries deemed ineligible due to incorrect Entrant information. The Promoter will not accept entries which are incomplete, illegible, or which are generated by computers or other automated means. 7. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition. 8. The Promoter will take all necessary steps to ensure that entries are properly recorded and stored, but will accept no liability if an entry is not recorded or is lost. If a Membership card/number is not produced at the time of purchase, then that purchase will not be credited against the Member’s accumulated total for the purposes of entering the competition. If the P.O.S System fails or if the Membership number is recorded incorrectly, every effort will be made to record the data not captured at the time of the purchase, where practical. 9. The Promoter is not liable for any tax implications arising from any prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought by the winners if necessary. Where this competition involves, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants will follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that were the parties are at arm’s length goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values. 10. These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia. |
Disputes | All feedback in respect of the Promotion should be submitted to the Promoter’s feedback address at: service@anaconda.com.au. In the case of any dispute, the Promoter will make a determination, acting reasonably and taking into account any feedback provided. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding. |
