The Ultimate Campfire for Perfect S’mores
G'Day Campers!
The best part of camping is a highly debated topic. There is relaxation, adventure, new sights, friends, family, nature, food, stories and good times. However, it is hard to compete with yummy treats around the campfire - and nothing beats a good, old-fashioned s'more. Today, we will teach you how to create the perfect campfire for cooking s'mores. You are in for a treat!
Three Simple Ingredients
-
Marshmallows
-
Chocolate
-
Graham Crackers
Building the Perfect Campfire
The perfect campfire for s'mores is not when the fire is first ignited. It is when the flames are low, and the embers have aged enough to glow bright red. Stacking your wood in a pyramid formation is an excellent method for a cracking fire! Remember to always be safety conscious when building a fire. Children must have a responsible adult present and supervising at all times
Prepare Your S'more
The perfect s'mores require just the right balance of crunchy graham crackers, gooey marshmallows and melted chocolate
- Break your graham crackers in half and place them on a plate.
- Place your chocolate on every second graham cracker.
- Find a suitable stick or camping skewer for roasting marshmallows.
- Load up your marshmallows (recommended one at a time).
Get Cooking
Your goal: Toasting rather than catching on fire. Dangle your marshmallow just above the flames and rotate it evenly. When perfectly toasted, place the marshmallow on top of the chocolate and use the other half of the graham cracker to sandwich everything together!
Enjoy the reward!
Be prepared for a messy and delicious treat. The warm, gooey marshmallow will melt the chocolate, creating a delicious flavour explosion in your mouth. Try experimenting with different types of chocolate or flavoured marshmallows for added fun.
Campout for Conservation Tip
Wildlife get their version of tasty treats, like s'mores, from the plant life around them. Spruce up your garden by planting some native plants for them to enjoy!
